Because doing nothing was not an option

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck the globe, the spotlight fell on our limitations. Our weaknesses were starkly highlighted. One of which is water and sanitation or the lack thereof. Dealing with a deadly disease when you have all the necessary facilities at your disposal has been a frightening prospect.

Now, imagine another reality. One where infrastructure is limited, populations are dispersed and there is a severe lack of resources. Daunting, to say the least.

When a task is that monumental, it takes a certain kind of soul to bridge the gap between the possible and the impossible. Those among us who inspire, persevere and see the silver linings. Those with the courage to understand suffering but face it head on, who work vigorously to make the world a better place. This book is about those people.

The ones who were afraid but carried on, who did not flinch in the face of adversity. Those who not only thought about doing something but actually did and then some.

The ones who make the difference. The movers and the shakers.
